At Nile Point,
we’ve helped design multi-year strategies, prepared business analysis for new technology solutions, designed cloud and mobile-based monitoring and evaluation platforms for NGOs.
What we do
Our experts have three decades of collective experience in the food security and technology sectors. Whether it is writing a proposal for a donor-funded bid, identifying and finding solutions for rural poverty in the Global South or technology solutions for improved impact reporting for your donor, Nile Point can help you. We follow the trends and we understand the challenges you face working in remote locations to achieve your important objectives. But more important than any of that, we put our clients first. After all, improved data collection is all about putting the best tools in the hands of your field workers on the ground in vulnerable communities.
Among our team members’ accomplishments:
- Helped design multi-year strategies for USAID
- Prepared business analysis for new technology solutions
- Designed cloud and mobile-based monitoring and evaluation platforms for NGOs
- Written proposals for USAID and EU tenders
- Drafted white paper for USAID on urban food insecurity
- Connected rural health workers to the head office with innovative mobile solutions
- Laid the groundwork to combat food insecurity in seven African countries
- Identified food security needs for those fleeing conflict in Syria
Software Integration
If you have your own M&E platform/application but would like to improve your data collection and validation we can help you to integrate your existing platform with our mobile based data collection application Xindicate. We will work with your in-house IT team to evaluate and design an appropriate interface that integrates into your existing system and processes. We have developed extensible web and micro services, with REST API’s and JSON data objects that allow you to export/import data across systems. Additional text or CSV based data exports are available too.
Software Deployment
Nile Point has deployed web and mobile applications for clients in DRC, Ethiopia and Haiti. Our team brings together user experience (UX) designers, software architects, mobile developers, food security and local experts who speak the language and understand the context. We also offer training and ground support during roll-out and ongoing remote support throughout the life of your project. Your data tells your story by showing the concrete results of your work. We know how rough it can be where you operate, so we created Xindicate to transmit your data completely offline without wifi or a telecom network.
“CARE Haiti hired Nile Point to create a customized web application to track numerous indicators for our food security program – Kore Lavi – in Haiti. The innovative platform Nile Point’s team developed for us allows our field offices with low bandwidth internet connection and our head office in Petion Ville to enter and review data on a regular basis. The platform is also able to generate reports in the format required by our donor – USAID. It has saved us significant time in reporting and provided enhanced audit functionality for all data reported and continues to be used successfully since its launch in early 2015. We highly recommend Nile Point given their familiarity with monitoring and evaluation for international development projects and technology.”
