What is Nile Point Consulting expertise?

Nile Point has a unique team of experts who have experience in fields related to food security such as agriculture, maternal child health and nutrition, environment and climate change. Do you understand the challenges faced by field operators?

Most of our team have managed long-term development projects in the Global South and worked hand in hand with field workers. We follow the trends and understand the challenges you face working in remote locations to achieve your important objectives. But more important than any of that, we put our clients first. After all, improved data collection is all about putting the best tools in the hands of your field workers on the ground in vulnerable communities.

I am collecting sensitive information about participants in my program. How is my data secured on xInidicate?

Your data is secured by strong encryption built into the xindicate framework at all endpoints and communication channels. Data is stored using AES-256 encryption on mobile devices and transmitted via Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocols.

We have our own M&E platform, can xIndicate be integrated with this platform to collect remote data?

We will work with your in-house IT team to evaluate and design an appropriate interface that integrates into your existing system and processes.  We have developed extensible web and micro services, with REST API’s and JSON data objects that allow you to export/import data across systems.Additional  via text or CSV based data exports are available too.

What is xIndicate?

In collaboration with Food for the Hungry, we spent over one year interviewing field teams in Ethiopia and DRC to understand the challenges they face to collect data for their USAID-funded food security interventions in remote rural areas and used these findings to develop a mobile and web tool to address this challenge. The result of this fruitful collaboration is the creation of a new monitoring and evaluation app called xIndicate that automatically conveys your field data and messages between all your staff asynchronously through a private Disruption (Delay) Tolerant Network. It works where there is no wifi or telecom, and it works during disasters when telecom service is down. It enables your teams to spend more time on the ground and less time making round trips to HQ. Our customizable Application Programming Interface (API) allows our software to interact with the software you currently use to track your data, whether that is a database on a local network or hosted in the cloud.

Can data be collected with xIndicate if there is no internet connection?

Of course, our peer-to-peer networked approach relays data between devices operating completely offline, if required, in regions without reliable communication infrastructure.  

I don’t see any use cases that apply to my situation, can xIndicate be adapted to my needs?

We will analyze your business needs and advise if xIndicate is an appropriate solution, and work closely with you to ensure your needs get met.

If I collect data with xIndicate, who owns the data?

You do! It’s your data after all! We want you to be with us because you love using the product, not because your data is stuck in it. You can export or flow data automatically through xIndicate to your own servers. We assert no control of the data, and you can remove it at any time.
